Board of Directors

Bev Davis

Guided by a profound commitment to her Catholic faith, Bev Davis has dedicated her life to serving the underprivileged, with a particular focus on the well-being of children, orphans, and widows. Her faith journey is a testament to the belief that we are called to be the hands and feet of Christ, following the lead of the Holy Spirit to serve those most in need.

After nearly five decades as a leader in the North American steel industry, John L. Davis traded the boardroom for a higher calling. John’s career had witnessed him rise from a laborer on the floor of a steel mill to the executive suite, receiving a degree in electrical engineering, summa cum laude, and an advanced business degree concentrating on economics, allowing him to master the complexities of globalization, financial turnarounds and complex mergers and acquisitions.

However, John’s most significant "conversion" was spiritual. When his wife, Bev, returned from East Africa heart-struck by the extreme poverty she witnessed, John’s perspective shifted from industrial growth to humanitarian development. Drawing on the advice of a priest to live the Gospel through his "time, talent, and treasure," John now dedicated his retired years to Mama Maji’s Mission. By leveraging his decades of engineering, operational and business expertise, he works to bring the necessities of life to our African brothers and sisters in Christ. John currently resides in Ave Maria, Florida, where he also teaches economics at Ave Maria University and serves on the board of Newman House Press.
